There is just so much I love about Elijah and Elisha's life but these past few days I've been meditating on 2 Kings 2:1-14. .

When Elijah is about to be taken up to heaven and he asked Elisha, what he can do for him and Elisha requests for a "double potion" of his anointing.

Elijah's response to Elisha was "you have asked a hard thing; yet if you see me as I am being taken from you, it shall be so for you, but if you do not see me, it shall not be so" (2 Kings 2:10)

Sweet girl, what seems a "hard thing" for men is "not hard" for God. When the chariots of fire and horses of fire showed up to take Elijah up to heaven (2 Kings 11-12) - a "heavenly distraction", Elisha still had his eyes locked on Elijah until he saw him no more (2 Kings 2:12)

Setting our eyes on Jesus FIRST above EVERYTHING else rewards us with a "double portion" of the "hard thing" we have been asking for - Jesus is the only way we receive such a blessing and anointing.

Today, let Elisha's example sit in the depth of your heart sweet girl, set your eyes on Jesus, put Him at the center of your life and everything else will follow.

Be blessed,
