Love Is a Choice, and God Shows Us How

ree

God’s love is a powerful and sacrificial gift, given even though we didn’t deserve it. As 1 John 4:10 reminds us, “This is love: He loved us long before we loved Him. It was His love, not ours.” Jesus' sacrifice on the cross is the ultimate display of true love—a love that seeks our good, not because we earned it, but because He chose to give it freely.

Love is not merely an emotion but a conscious decision. It’s choosing to love others, even when it’s difficult. Sometimes we might question, "Does God really love me? How can I be sure of His love in my life right now?" But God’s love is steadfast and unchanging. He proved it through Jesus, and He continues to show His love in countless ways, from the little moments of joy in our day to the unexpected blessings we receive.

We are loved by a God who desires only the best for us. Let’s choose to trust His love and accept it, knowing that He is faithful. His love is overwhelming, real, and personal.

Activation: Think of someone in your life who is difficult to love. Ask God to help you show them love this week, and find a way to express care to them—even a small act of kindness.
